Removing Toll-Free, Operator-Assisted, and Emergency-911 Calls from TeleAudit® Reports of Outbound Long Distance Calls

Article #ETM133

Symptom: Toll Free (800), Operator, and Emergency 911 calls are flagged as LD in the database (based on definitions in the Dialing Plan).

Description: This article explains how to create accurate reports for outbound long distance calls, by using Destination Details to filter out the following substrings: OPER, EMRG, 800.

Versions Affected: ETM® System v3.0-v4.0.x

Solution: To tailor reports for outbound long distance calls so that they do not include emergency, operator, and toll-free calls, you define a filter in the Report Element to filter the Destination Details field with the substrings OPER, EMRG, and 800.

To filter for three different substrings in the Destination Details field, you need to create subfilters.

To filter out the substrings OPER, EMRG, and 800 in a TeleAudit® Report Element

  1. In the General Report Element Editor dialog box, click the Filter tab.
  2. Click Modify. The Filter dialog box appears.
  3. In the first Field box, click the down arrow, then click Destination Details.
The Filter on Substring dialog box appears.
  4. Click Exclude.
  5. In the Items containing substring box, type OPER.
  6. Click OK. The first filter is displayed in the Filter dialog box.
  7. Click the arrow on the logical operator box, then click OR.
  8. In the second Field box, click the down arrow, then click Subfilter.
A second Filter dialog box appears.
    1. In the first Field box, click the down arrow, then click Destination Details.
The Filter on Substring dialog box appears.
    2. Click Exclude.
    3. In the Items containing substring box, type EMRG.
    4. Click OK. The first filter is displayed in the Filter dialog box.
    5. Click the arrow on the logical operator box, then click OR.
    6. In the second Field box, click the down arrow, then click Destination Details.
The Filter on Substring dialog box appears.
    7. Click Exclude.
    8. In the Items containing substring box, type 800.
